Our Story

Kal is a family-style Korean restaurant in the heart of NYC, created by two friends bonded over the home-cooked meals they grew up with. At Kal, we celebrate the flavors of tradition with every dish — from sizzling bulgogi and vibrant bibimbap to rich, slow-simmered stews. Every bowl is a love letter to home, crafted with care and meant to be shared. Here, it’s not just about the food — it’s about gathering, connection, and the simple joy of coming together over a meal that feels like a warm embrace.

Our name derives from the Korean translation of the word ‘knife’. We opened our doors on July 1st, 2020, serving classic Korean comfort food.

- We offer discounted lunch pricing on selected items
- Walk-ins and reservations are welcome. Walk-ins are first come, first served.
While wait times can vary depending on the time and day, our peak hours are from 7pm-9pm.

Outside drinks are not permitted. We do have a selection of Korean soju, beer and wine available.
- We have vegetarian and dairy free menu options available. With some alterations to certain dishes, we can accommodate gluten-free and vegan options.
